Novaseers has been quiet, we know, but we, the Novaseers core team, are more committed than ever to taking this project and our community to the place it deserves.
As everyone following the project knows, February was the estimated minting date for the Novas, our galaxies, the center of the Novaverse. We are writing this note on March 8. Therefore, it is clear that the mint didn’t happen as anticipated.
Let’s break out the reason for this delay and the team’s vision for the project in the short term future.
Responsibility
The Novaseers team shares many things in common, its love for space, the thrill of making and playing video games, the roots in the community, but what keeps us working together with the same trust and high-mindedness is our core shared sense of responsibility.
In the spirit of being faithful to such value, we have decided to postpone the minting of the Novas indefinitely.
The short explanation is network performance. Novaseers’ core mechanics rely heavily upon network transactions like commerce, Exos (planets) discovery and minting, resource gathering, and Intergalactic exploration.
The most recent status of the Cardano network made us recognize how the player experience would be affected in a heavy to medium congestion scenario.
The easiest path would be to cash with the Novas and continue creating the video game without the certainty that what we envisioned would ever be playable. We choose the hard path.
The team will continue working on the development of the game experience. But will also continue researching every possibility that would make Novaseers possible without sacrificing its core nature.
Hydra, Mithril, Andromeda, custom sidechains, and other blockchains are the principal candidates for the solution we are expecting.
Once we acquire high confidence that Novaverse can be a reality, we will resume with the minting of the Novas, the PFPs, the SEVs, and all the on-chain elements of the Novaverse.
Our most sincere apologies, we don’t want to rush anything and release a product that is not what we envisioned.
